Tarangire National Park & Ngorongoro Crater

Morning

• Depart Arusha early after breakfast (around 07:00).

• Scenic drive through the Maasai steppe with views of traditional homesteads and local markets.

• Arrive at Tarangire National Park by mid-morning and begin your first game drive.

Game Drive

• Explore the park famous for its ancient baobab trees and huge elephant herds.

• Spot wildlife such as lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and over 400 bird species.

Lunch

• Picnic lunch inside the park at a designated site overlooking the river or swamp.

Afternoon

• Continue with game viewing along the Tarangire River, a vital water source that attracts a variety of animals, especially during the dry season.

Evening

• Exit the park and drive to your lodge/tented camp in Karatu or near Lake Manyara.

• Dinner and overnight stay.

Early Morning

• Breakfast at the lodge/camp.

• Depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area, descending 600 meters into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera.

Game Drive

• Full game drive on the crater floor, home to the densest population of wildlife in Africa.

• Spot black rhinos, lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, and an abundance of antelopes and birdlife.

Lunch

• Picnic lunch at a scenic site near the hippo pool.

Afternoon

• Continue exploring the crater floor with chances to spot predators in action.

• Ascend the crater and begin the drive back to Arusha.

Evening

• Arrive in Arusha by early evening, marking the end of your 2-day safari.
